Disaster recovery for virtual and physical workloads

We support all popular workloads including Windows and Linux physical servers and VMs, major hypervisors, and Microsoft business applications.

Local failover with Acronis Instant Restore

In the event of single server failures, you can leverage the existing on-premises infrastructure resources by spinning up any physical or virtual Windows or Linux system locally in seconds, directly from the backup storage on your existing Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware vSphere ESXi host.

Under 15-minute RPOs and RTOs

Achieve both RPOs and RTOs shorter than 15 minutes*. The Acronis RunVM engine enables best-in-class production and test failover speed, while flexible backup frequency policies lead to tighter RPOs.

Off-site failover to the Acronis cloud recovery site

Get back to business in mere minutes no matter how severe the incident is – from a single server failure to a full site outage or loss – by switching your production workloads to machines in an Acronis cloud data center.

Automated testing of all key disaster recovery scenarios

Verify the integrity of your disaster recovery plans by executing runbooks in test-mode via the web console and isolating testing from the production network.

Straightforward pay-as-you-go pricing

Pay only for the servers you are protecting with Acronis Disaster Recovery Cloud, based on your actual usage. There are no charges for compute resources if the recovery server is not running

Disaster recovery orchestration with runbooks

Automate key disaster recovery scenarios and ensure your systems will be recovered in the correct order to address interdependencies between applications

Dissimilar hardware recovery with Acronis Universal Restore

Restore Windows and Linux systems to the same, similar, or dissimilar hardware during a failback procedure, including bare-metal, physical, virtual, or cloud.

* The exact time required to start a copy of the VM on the Acronis cloud recovery site depends on the operating system configuration and usually varies from two to five minutes.

Acronis Disaster Recovery FAQs

How Secure if the Service?

Acronis Disaster Recovery Service provides each client with a virtual private network connected by site-to-site IPSec VPN. Only you can access your data and remote systems.

Acronis Disaster Recovery Service, powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine, can encrypt your data at the source with government-approved, strong AES- 256 encryption before sending it over to a secure Acronis Data Center. You can set up the password — and only you will be able to access the data

All management communication between your production environment and the Acronis Data Center runs through secure channels with SSL encryption. At any moment in time, all aspects of your data are secure.

As part of the service, Acronis will establish an Active Directory Domain Controller located in the Acronis Data Center. This helps ensure that even after a disaster, your authentication mechanisms and organization-wide security and access rights are safe, and your production applications continue operating as they were before the event.

How Safe is the Service?

Acronis Data Centers are equipped with UPS and backup diesel-generators and are designed to ensure constant power availability during indefinite power outages. In addition, there are redundant HVAC, network and UPS systems. The Tier-IV data centers are always available and can sustain at least one worst-case-scenario unplanned event with no critical impact. With 99.995% availability, Tier-IV is the highest availability level for any data center on the planet.

SSAE 16 reports are issued to a data center organization to substantiate that a service auditor has performed an attestation engagement to report on controls. Compliance-sensitive companies, such as publicly traded enterprises, financial firms, and healthcare organizations, often require SSAE 16 “certification.”

Physical safety and security is ensured via high fences, 24×7 security personnel, and video surveillance with 90-day archiving. Biometric hand-geometry scan and proximity key cards are required for access.

With Acronis Disaster Recovery Service, you will select the data center based on your geographic requirements, network connectivity, data sovereignty, and compliance requirements. Acronis runs a network of data centers across the globe to fit the needs of any customer.
